Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has formally announced the burial arrangements for former President Muhammadu Buhari, who died on Sunday in a London hospital.
Speaking during a press briefing in Katsina on Monday, Governor Radda disclosed that following consultations with the late President’s family and close associates, it was agreed that Buhari’s remains would arrive Katsina on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 12 noon.
He said the burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. in Daura, the hometown of the late President.
Radda expressed deep condolences to the family of the late leader, as well as to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all Nigerians mourning the loss.
“We pray Almighty Allah to grant his soul eternal rest and reward him with Aljannatul Firdaus,” the Governor said. “We also condole with His Excellency, President Tinubu, over the passing of his predecessor. May Allah give us the strength to bear this great loss.”
He added that the Katsina State Government is working closely with federal authorities and the late President’s family to ensure a dignified and befitting farewell for the elder statesman.
