Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has today paid an on-site visit to a factory where the construction of 50,000 school desks, benches, and other essential furniture is underway.
According to the governor, the project is part of the state government’s ambitious plan to equip all primary schools across Kano with modern and comfortable learning facilities.
This was contained in a statement made on his verified Facebook page which was sighted by our correspondent.
During his inspection, Governor Yusuf expressed satisfaction with the progress of the project and commended the contractor for their efficiency and commitment to quality.
The statement reads: “This first phase of the initiative is part of our commitment to uplift the standard of our schools so that they meet the basic standards of habitability.
“This also affords us the opportunity to engage thousands of our youthful population in the productive and fulfilling enterprise of producing these essential pieces of furniture.”
He emphasized the importance of providing conducive learning environments for students, noting that access to adequate furniture is crucial for enhancing educational outcomes.
The governor also highlighted the economic benefits of the project, as it has created employment opportunities for local residents involved in the manufacturing process.
He expressed confidence that the completion of this initiative will significantly improve the quality of education in Kano State.
Upon completion, the 50,000 pieces of school furniture will be distributed to primary schools throughout the state, ensuring that all students have access to comfortable and functional learning spaces.
He assured that his administration will not relent to continue to strive towards ensuring quality and affordable education for all in the state.
