Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has presented foodstuffs and cash donations as palliatives to the families of late Lieutenant Colonel Abdullahi Hassan Ali and three other soldiers killed a few months back.
Late Lt. Col. AH Ali, Staff Sergeant Yahaya Saidu, Corporal Kabiru Bashir, and Private Adamu Ibrahim were personnel of the Nigerian Army and of Kano State indigenes who were killed in a peacekeeping exercise in Delta state.
Making the presentation, the Governor, represented by the Director General of the Special Services Directorate, Government House, AVM Ibrahim Umaru (rtd), said the gesture was to provide succour to the families of the late soldiers and appreciate their contributions in maintaining peace and stability in their fatherland.
Governor Abba Kabir, through AVM Ibrahim Umaru, pacified the bereaved families to take solace in losing their breadwinners and beseech Almighty Allah to grant the departed souls eternal rest and take care of the families and dependents they left behind.
The palliatives presented include N500,000, 3 bags of 50Kg rice, 3 cartons of Spaghetti and 3 bags of millet to the families of late Lt. Col. AH Ali; while the families of the three other soldiers received N200,000, 2 bags of rice of 50Kg, 2 cartons of Spaghetti, and two bags of millet each.
Representatives of the respective families appreciated Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf for the concern, sympathy and magnanimity shown to them during the trying moment of mourning their loved ones.
They also acknowledged with joy the effort of the Director General, Special Services, AVM Ibrahim Umaru, who served as a bridge between the bereaved families and the state government and ensured the provision of palliatives.
