Suspected armed bandits have killed a retired secondary school teacher and abducted three women, including his wife, at the staff quarters of Government Secondary School (GSS), Tsafe, in Zamfara State.
The attack occurred on Saturday night around 10:00 p.m., throwing the community into panic. According to residents, the deceased had only recently retired from active service as a teacher. His wife and two other women living within the staff quarters were abducted during the raid.
Spokesperson for the Zamfara State Police Command, DSP Yazid Abubakar, confirmed the incident to journalists. He said the gunmen stormed the staff quarters under the cover of darkness and whisked the three women away to an unknown destination.
“The Command has already deployed troops to the area. Our operatives are currently on the trail of the perpetrators to ensure the safe rescue of the victims and apprehension of the suspects,” Abubakar stated.
Communities across Tsafe Local Government Area have faced repeated attacks by armed bandits in recent months, leading to heightened fear and insecurity among residents.
