Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has distributed 88 motorcycles and 5 Operational vehicles to aid the mobility of frontline health workers in the implementation of various health programmes in the state.
The distribution was conducted during an event at the Government House, Kano.
This was contained via a Press Statement issued by the governor’s Spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa in Kano.
The Governor distributed 88 motorcycles and 3 units of o Wheel Drive Utility Toyota vehicles, which are support provided by the Global Fund to Supervisors and their Assistants to ensure effective coordination and transport of programme commodities that will help in the identification of Tuberculosis, Leprosy, Malaria and HIV.
On the other hand, two operational vehicles were presented for the operations of Immunization Plus Malaria Progress by Accelerating Coverage and Transform Services( IMPACT), a high-impact project for the transformation of the HC system in Nigeria aimed to improve routine immunization, skilled birth delivery, reduction of under-five mortality among others.
Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf admonished for the proper use of the vehicles and the motorcycles to achieve the goal of providing them, and promote health care services delivery in the state for the better.
