The North East Governor’s forum have resolved to enforce a remarkable steps to ensure it overcome insecurity issues in the region.
This was disclosed during 12th reginal North East region’s meeting held recently in Jalingo the Taraba state capital to address some of the pressing issues which included insecurity, infrastructure deficits, and displacement.
The Chief host of the occasion, the Taraba State Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas, was formally opened by the Forum’s Chairman and Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum.
In a keynote address, Governor Zulum underscored the critical need for unity and sustained collaboration to overcome the region’s challenges.
This the Governor highlighted the importance of collective action in fostering peace and development across the North East.
On his part, Governor Kefas, in a welcome speech, echoed these sentiments, calling for deeper cooperation to drive economic growth and infrastructure development.
The opening session set the stage for a closed-door meeting, where governors, including Gombe State’s Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, who deliberated on key issues.
The presentation of North East Development Commission, NIGCOMSAT, and the University of Maiduguri are expected to inform discussions on regional progress and solutions.
The governors also are on top of gear to address broader national concerns impacting the zone.
A communique outlining the Forum’s resolutions were also released at the end of the closed-door meeting, offered insight into the actionable steps agreed upon by the leaders.”
