The Kaduna Peace and Unity Forum (KPUF) has come to the defense of Governor Uba Sani, accusing former Governor Nasir El-Rufai of lacking the moral authority to criticize Sani’s administration.
In a statement issued yesterday, the group’s Chairman, Dr. David Bege Abraham, criticized El-Rufai’s tenure, alleging that his administration left behind “fraudulent and destructive legacies” that burdened Kaduna State with significant debt.
The KPUF’s defense follows El-Rufai’s recent claims that Sani has been engaging in sycophancy and excessively pandering to President Bola Tinubu for personal gain. El-Rufai further alleged that Sani’s strong support for Tinubu is linked to over N150 billion in federal reimbursements to Kaduna State over the past 18 months.
However, the KPUF dismissed these allegations as unfounded, commending Governor Sani for his “civil approach to governance” and his “cordial, visionary leadership” that has fostered peace and security in the state. The group expressed full confidence in Governor Sani, stating that he is committed to transforming Kaduna for the better.
This new development adds another layer to the ongoing rift between El-Rufai and Sani, with many urging both leaders to prioritize the interests of Kaduna State over personal conflicts.
