Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has expressed profound grief and extended heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Kano State following the tragic road accident that claimed the lives of 22 young athletes returning from the National Sports Festival in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The condolence message was issued by the Chief Press Secretary, Mohammed Kaulaha, and made available to newsmen.
Governor Radda described the incident as a devastating blow to Nigeria’s sporting community and a painful loss that has plunged the nation into mourning.
“The news of this tragic accident has deeply saddened us all. These young athletes represented the hopes and dreams of their families, communities, Kano State, and indeed, the nation. Their untimely demise has cut short promising futures and left an irreplaceable void in our hearts,” the Governor stated.
On behalf of the Government and people of Katsina State, Governor Radda extended sincere sympathies to his Kano State counterpart, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, the families of the deceased, and the entire Kano sporting community during this difficult period.
He also offered special prayers for the departed souls, asking Almighty Allah to forgive their shortcomings and grant them Aljannatul Firdaos.
Additionally, he prayed for divine comfort and strength for the bereaved families as they cope with this immense loss.
