The Emir of Kano Mahammadu Sunusi II has paid a condolence visit to Katsina state over the death of Hajiya Dada, mother of late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
Sunusi arrived in Katsina in a private jet and was received at Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport by the state government officials and a representative from the Katsina Emirate Council.
The Emir l, who visited the government house, said he was shaken by the death of Haiya Dada, describing her as a mother with full wisdom.
He told the state Governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, that he will never forget the love and trust shown to him by the Yar’Adua family.
Sunusi recalled that late President Umaru picked and appointed him for the position of governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) while he was Managing Director of First Bank.
“I am in Katsina to pay tribute to the late Dada and condole Katsina government and people of the state over her death,” he said.
He said, “l was touched by her death; she is a mother to all of us. I prayed Allah to forgive her.”
Sūnusi also paid a similar condolence visit to the Emir of Katsina, Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, and the Yar’Adua family. He prayed to Allah to grant her Arjanan Firdaus.
Those accompanied by the Emir for the condolence include Madawakin Kano, Yusuf Labahani, Danburan, Manir Sunusi Bayero and Magajin Garin Nasiru Inuwa wada.
Others were Bunin Kano, Umar Sunusi Bayero, Salim Kano, Bashir Mahe Bashir as well as Sarkin Shanu, and Shehu Mohammed.
