The Kano State Government has expressed strong support for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), hailing its efforts in combating crime and maintaining public order across the state.
The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Haruna Isah Dederi, made the commendation on Friday, during a courtesy visit by the newly deployed NSCDC Commandant in Kano State, Mr. Shafiu Abdulmumini Dayi, to the Ministry of Justice.
Barr. Dederi described the NSCDC as a “reliable partner” in crime fighting, control, and management, emphasizing the shared commitment between the Corps and the Ministry toward ensuring a safer and more just society.
“While the NSCDC focuses on fighting crime, the Ministry of Justice takes up the responsibility of prosecuting offenders. Together, we are working towards a common objective — a clean and better society for all,” he stated.
The Attorney General further reaffirmed the state government’s readiness to provide the necessary support that will enable the NSCDC to effectively carry out its mandate. He acknowledged the vital role the Corps plays in ensuring security and stability in Kano.
In his remarks, Commandant Dayi noted that his visit to the Ministry was part of his stakeholder familiarization tour and an effort to strengthen inter-agency collaboration.
He reiterated the NSCDC’s commitment to promoting peace and security in Kano State and expressed optimism that a sustained partnership with the Ministry of Justice would lead to more effective service delivery.
“The NSCDC is committed to working closely with the Ministry of Justice to ensure that peace and security prevail in our communities,” Dayi said.
Both institutions emphasized their commitment to joint efforts in building a safer Kano, with the state government pledging continued support for the NSCDC’s operations.
