Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has pledged to ensure the resumption of daily publication at Triumph Publishing Company as part of efforts to reposition the organization for efficiency and sustainability.
The Commissioner made this commitment during his familiarization visit to the company as part of his tour of agencies under the Ministry.
Comrade Waiya emphasized the need for modern equipment to enhance the company’s operations, stating that Triumph Publishing must function as a standard newspaper organization with daily production.
Recognizing the dedication and professionalism of the staff, the Commissioner assured them of improved welfare and the recruitment of additional personnel to address staffing shortages and ensure effective service delivery.
As part of the revitalization efforts, the Commissioner announced that a nine-member committee will soon be established to develop comprehensive solutions for the company’s challenges.
The committee will comprise representatives from the Ministry, Triumph Publishing Company, and external media experts. Chaired by the Commissioner himself, it will oversee the transformation process once inaugurated.
Comrade Waiya further stressed the importance of digitalization, urging the company to establish an online daily publication to compete with prominent media organizations nationwide.
He also emphasized the need for expanding content beyond Kano State to attract advertisements from across the country.
Earlier, the Managing Director of Triumph Publishing Company, Muhammed Hamisu Abdullahi, highlighted key challenges facing the company, including obsolete printing equipment, staff shortages, and roof damage caused by strong winds.

The Managing Director commended the Commissioner for his ongoing support and congratulated him on his appointment.
In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Adamu Bala Muhammad, applauded the Commissioner’s commitment to revitalizing the company, describing it as a significant step towards strengthening government-owned media in Kano State.
