The Office of the Head of Civil Service, Kano State, has disowned a fake circular currently circulating on social media and other platforms, claiming the suspension of salary payments to persons allegedly irregularly enrolled on the state payroll.
The fake circular, titled “Suspension of Salary Payment to Persons Irregularly Enrolled into the State Payroll,” bears Reference No. HCS/LEV/2/1 and is dated June 19, 2026.
In a statement signed by the Director of Public Enlightenment, Rukayya Uba Sulaiman, and made available to journalists, the Office described the document as false, misleading, and fraudulent.
“The Office wishes to categorically state that the purported circular did not originate from the Office of the Head of Civil Service and should be disregarded in its entirety,” the statement said.
It further clarified that the document was neither signed nor issued by the Director of Administration and General Services (DAGS) or any authorized officer of the Office.
According to the statement, the use of the Director’s name and designation in the fake circular was intended to deceive the public.
The Office advised civil servants and members of the public to ignore the fake circular and refrain from sharing or acting on its contents, stressing that all official communications are issued only through recognized and verified channels.
It also called on relevant security agencies to investigate the source of the fake document and ensure those responsible are brought to justice in accordance with the law.
The office reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, due process, and the dissemination of accurate information on matters affecting the Kano State Civil Service.
It urged the public to rely only on official communications issued by the Office of the Head of Civil Service for authentic information.
