From Muawuya bala Idris, Katsina
The Katsina State House of Assembly has passed a unanimous resolution calling on the state government to immediately rehabilitate the Baure General Hospital.
The hospital, which serves as a critical healthcare facility for residents of Baure and surrounding communities, has been plagued by crumbling infrastructure, a lack of reliable power supply, and a shortage of qualified medical staff.
The call followed a motion presented by Hon. Sirajo Umar, representing the Baure constituency, who expressed concern about the condition of the hospital due to neglect by the previous government.
The lawmaker has called for immediate government intervention, stressing the need for modern clinical facilities, reliable power generation, and recruitment of qualified medical personnel.
He said the hospital was the health facility used by the people of Baure and neighbouring Jigawa and Niger Republic.
Speaker, Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura, who presided over the session, emphasized the urgency of the situation, stressing that the hospital’s rehabilitation is essential to providing quality healthcare services to the people.
The people of Baure and surrounding communities eagerly await the rehabilitation of their hospital, hoping for improved healthcare services and a better quality of life.
