The Katsina state government has finally announced the lifting of the curfew imposed during the nationwide hunger protest.
ln a statement issued by the secretary to the Government of the State, Abdullahi Garba Faskari, said the lifting is with immediate effect.
The statement said the lifting follows a report of prevailing peace and harmony all over the state, adding that the lifting is to enable people to go about normal business.
The statement, however, called on people to report any suspicious movement by individuals or groups of people to the security. It reiterated the state government’s commitment to continue to protect lives and properties.
The statement said the state’s Acting Governor, Faruk Jobe, commended security agents and people of the state for their support and understanding.
