Katsina State Social Investment Programme Agency (KASIPA) has signed a Memorandum of understanding with the International Rescue Committee on issues concerning the welfare of IDPs and other less privileged in the state.
The Executive Director of the Agency, Dr.Mudanssir Nasir, signed the memorandum of understanding on behalf of his Agenc,y, while Mr.Mathew Attah signed on behalf of IRC.
The Mou, which was signed at an occasion held in the KASIPA Office, was witnessed by relevant stakeholders on issues concerning the welfare of IDPs and other less privileged members of the society.
The signing of the MOU is in line with the commitment of Governor Radda’s Administration to improving the lives of people affected by armed banditry and other people.
Speaking shortly after signing the MOU, the KASIPA Executive Director, Dr Mudanssir Nasir, said the Agency is determined to partner with any NGO or Individual wishing to improve the lives of people in the state.
Nasir said the Agency has already partnered with some organisations that have a keen interest in assisting people affected by insecurity, more especially at this trying time.
He used the opportunity to commend Governor Radda for the usual support and cooperation he has been given to the Agency which led to the successes so far recorded, and called for more.
Earlier, the Manager of IRC in Katsina State, Mr.Matthew Attah Onoja, said the IRC is currently implementing its humanitarian programmes in Katsina, Batagarawa and Batsari Local Governments.
He said the MOU will no doubt contribute to expanding the programmes being implemented by the IRC in Katsina State.
He thanked Governor Radda for his zeal in addressing the security challenges facing some parts of the State and for his commitment to assisting those affected by armed banditry.
