The chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina State has held a state Congress with the election of new officials to run the affairs of the party.
The Congress was held at the party state secretariat in attendance by executives of the party from wards and local government levels.
The Triumph correspondent reports that INEC officials and officials from the headquarters of the party supervised the conduct of the Congress.
Mahammed Nura Amadi was elected as Chairman, Magaji Lawal as Vice-Chairman, and Sunusi Abu as Secretary.
Others include Adamu Yahaya as Financial Secretary, Mahammed Nuradeen as Legal Adviser and Umar Tijjani as Publicity Secretary.
Also elected were Habiba Ahmed as the Women Leader and Haruna Aliyu as the Organising Secretary.
Speaking at the occasion, Sen. Yakubu Lado Danmarke, commended the peaceful conduct of the Congress.
Lado, who was the gubernatorial candidate of the party in the 2023 election, called on new officials to work hard to restore the lost glory of the party in the state.
In their separate acceptance speech, the newly elected executives pledged to be fair to all and solicit support from the members.
