No fewer than 118 cases of Cholera were recorded in Katsina State.

The Director Manager and Epidemiology of the State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Kabir Suleiman revealed this to newsmen.

Suleiman said out of the number two cases were confirmed cholera.

He said the State has engaged 3,000 personnel to go around villages to sensitise women on how best to maintain personal hygiene and good use of sanity water.

He further said the state has designated 34 comprehensive health centres for admitting patients with cholera cases.

“We have also commenced distribution of drugs and other necessary facilities to all health centres” he said.

According to him, the Government has sponsored jingles to educate people against contracting cholera. He called on people to avoid eating contaminated food and visit the hospital in case of any sign of cholera symptoms.
