Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed the state’s strong desire to work hand-in-hand with the private sector to further revitalize the state economy.
Governor Yusuf dropped the hint during a meeting with Mrs. Meka Oyenle, the Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Bank, at the Kano Government House.
The Triumph recently reported that the state governor on several occasions expressed keen readiness and overwhelming commitments to engage with more key stakeholders to explore private sector investment in the state.
The governor, who was represented by his deputy, who doubles as the Commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, stressed the need to renew and strengthen partnerships with the bank to launch more ambitious and impactful projects.
“Our government remains committed to fostering productive partnerships that promote the development of Kano State, contribute to the well-being of its residents, and position Kano as a leading commercial centre in the northern country,” he added.
He stressed that the state government would work towards driving economic growth and development across the state by harnessing the expertise and efficiencies that the private sector could bring to the delivery of economic growth of the state.
On her part, Mrs Oyenle, the Managing Director/CEO of the bank said the purpose of their visit was to pursue the state government partnership and cordial rapport to pave the way for the influx of opportunities in various programs and initiatives for the development of the state.
Mrs Oyenle reassured the bank’s commitment to supporting the state’s economic growth and development of the state.
