A devastating flood has struck Maiduguri, leaving thousands of people homeless and without food, water, or shelter.
In a press release, Comred Bulama Abiso, the Executive Director of NECSOB, said the situation is dire, and there’s a need for urgent assistance to provide relief to the affected communities.
The Network of Civil Society Organizations – Borno state (NECSOB) stated this in their different interviews with the newsmen in Maiduguri.
According to them, they urged the government, individual personalities and non-governmental organizations to support in providing the following items:
1. Food and Water: Non-perishable food items, bottled water and pure water
2. Shelter and Blankets: Tents, blankets, and sleeping mats.
3. Medical Aid: First aid kits, medicines, ORS and medical personnel.
4. Clothing and Hygiene Items: Clothing, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and sanitary products.
5. Financial Support: Funds to support relief efforts and rehabilitation programs
