Saudi Arabia government has conducted 48th Grand Hajj Symposium with a theme of Observing the Religious Permissions and Adhering to the Established Regulations in Hajj Ritual.
The event was attended by great scholars from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic World.
The Grand Symposium’s welcome speech was given by the Minister of Hajj & Umrah, Dr. Taufiq Al-Rabiah with focus on making the performance of Hajj easy for every Pilgrim.
All efforts are geared towards cooperation of global Pilgrims and their submission to the teachings of doing Hajj in comfort and ease.
Also, the symposium hosted the grand Mufti, of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia whose address was delivered on his behalf by H. E. Sheikh Dr. Fahad Al-Majid.
In his presentation, the Nigerian Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs’ Representative, Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, explained how important it is in Islam to accept reliefs offered by the religion in the performance of rites and cited an example with reducing the four parts prayer to two for Pilgrims during certain times and also merging the two prayers.
NAHCON Operations Commissioner Prince Anofiu Olanrewaju led the Nigerian delegation to the Symposium on behalf of the Chairman/CEO.
He asserted that the symposium is important and its message is also clear and will be disseminated to Nigerian Pilgrims through their respective States’ Pilgrims Welfare Agencies, Boards and Commissions.
