In the water sector, solar-powered boreholes were drilled at Garin Amadu, Izzakari, and Gasma in Karasuwa LGA; Rigan Hardo Doshiro, Kagumsuwa, Mafidu, and Motor Park in Machina LGA; and Billalam Hausawa, Kwanar Dan Iya, Motor Park, Bayan Jinga, Hausari Primary School, College of Health Technology, and Tsangayan Khalifa Goni Fatihu in Nguru LGA.
Abbas said the projects were designed to address critical needs in education and water supply.
He stated, “The NEDC is determined to bring development closer to the people by investing in education, health, and water infrastructure. These projects will improve learning environments, expand access to clean water, and build resilience for a better future.”
The coordinator commended the leadership of the NEDC Managing Director, Mohammed Goni Alkali, and his management team for their “steadfast commitment” to delivering impactful interventions across the North East.
According to him, the ongoing inspections highlight the commission’s role in recovery and stabilisation efforts, with the goal of building a peaceful and prosperous North East after more than a decade of insurgency.
