The Nigeria Police Force Zone 10 Police Headquarters in Sokoto has decorated 49 officers who were recently promoted to their new ranks.
A total of nine Inspectors were elevated to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP II), 33 Sergeants were promoted to the rank of Inspector, and seven Corporals were promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
This promotion exercise was conducted by the Police Service Commission (PSC) based on the recommendation of Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
The Zone 10 Headquarters in Sokoto decorated its newly promoted senior officers, according to a statement issued by DSP Uthman Yaqub Muhammad, PPRO.
The decoration ceremonies were held in two phases: Sergeants to Inspectors and Corporals to Sergeants were decorated on July 25, 2025, while Inspectors to ASP II were decorated on August 6, 2025.
Both ceremonies were presided over by Assistant Inspector General of Police AIG Gyogon Augustine Grimah, alongside members of his management team, with family, friends, and well-wishers in attendance.
AIG Grimah congratulated the promotees, urging them to maintain high standards, noting that “to whom much is given, much is expected.” He emphasized discipline’s importance in the Nigeria Police Force and adherence to the Force’s dress code.
On behalf of the promotees, Supol Abdullahi Shuaibu of the Zonal Intelligence Department expressed gratitude to the Almighty, the PSC, the IGP, and the AIG for the promotions. He pledged the newly promoted officers’ readiness to take on higher responsibilities.
