As the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) holds its congresses to electcouncillor anddchairmanshipp candidates for the 17 local government areas of Plateau State, they have been urged to be guided by the constitution of the party in the conduct of the exercise.
The Chairman of the Plateau State PDP Elders Council, Chief Raymond Dabo disclosed this in a statement calling on those who are to conduct the elections to ensure a free and fair level playing ground for all aspirants while they on their part, must exhibit a high sense of maturity and responsibility as they seek to serve the people.
According to him, the Elders Council, as the conscience of the Party, wants the choice of the delegates to be respected and protected for a good outing in the October 9th Council polls.
He urged the aspirants to know that in any contest, there must be a winner that would emerge and a loser, adding that whoever gets the mandate should see it as a victory for all.
Our correspondent recalls that, earlier, the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) had notified the leadership of all political parties and the general public that elections shall be conducted in the Seventeen (17) Local Government Councils of Plateau State on Wednesday, 9th October 2024 between 8.00am and 3.00pm.
