The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Zone 10 Headquarters, Sokoto, has strengthened its partnership with the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Zone B Headquarters, Kaduna, to enhance emergency response operations and bolster national security.
The Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 10, AIG Gyogon Augustine Grimah, received the Assistant Comptroller-General (ACG) of Customs in charge of Zone B, Kaduna, ACG Nsikan Patrick Umoh, and her entourage during a working visit to Sokoto State.
Upon arrival, the ACG was accorded a quarter guard and warmly received at the office of the AIG at the zonal headquarters.
Speaking during the visit, the ACG commended the Nigeria Police Force for its dedication to maintaining law and order, as well as its numerous sacrifices in service to the nation.
The visit, which aligns with the mandate of the Nigeria Customs Service, was aimed at strengthening inter-agency collaboration, enhancing border patrol safety, and sustaining the existing cordial relationship among critical stakeholders within the zone.
Discussions at the meeting focused on strict adherence to the constitutional mandates of both the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Customs Service.
Emphasis was placed on promoting anti-smuggling operations, facilitating legitimate trade, improving border security, and enhancing emergency response mechanisms at the zonal level to further strengthen national security.
AIG Grimah pledged the support of the Nigeria Police Force to Customs officers in efforts to strengthen border security whenever the need arises.
He also reaffirmed the commitment of the police to continuous inter-agency synergy, partnership, and collaboration in advancing national security objectives.
According to a statement issued by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Faruk Abdullahi Ambursa, Zone 10 Headquarters remains committed to promoting effective inter-agency cooperation and partnerships to strengthen national security across the region.
