…Warns Principals, Exam Officers for Name Substitutions

In order to ease parents hardship due to the squalid condition of the nation and, to motivate Kano State students to fulfill their academic dreams, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has paid all students that sat for qualifying examination and possessed four credits.
This was revealed by the commissioner of education, Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa at his office when having press conference with members of journalists, Thursday.
He said: “Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, because of his magnanimity and leadership qualities, having study the situation that parents are and in dare need of even feeding their family, while the students that sat for GGE examination cannot afford, it was proposed to him to pay those with eight credits.
“He rejected the proposal and therefore opted to pay any student with four credits in any subject.”
It’s known that, for any candidate to sit for NECO exam, he or she must pay the sum of 24,250 and 21,000 for NBA IS exam, respectively and Kano State Government has paid the sum of 2, 910, 682, 708 to the candidates of the state.
The Commissioner has also admonished parents to continue sending their children to school and writing qualifying examination did not mean for students to remain at home.
He has similarly warned all principals and exam officers to make sure they register all candidates with four credits without substituting someone’s name with another or engaging into any illegal act off Kano State ministry of Education could not tolerate that under the administration of Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Appreciating the effort of Kano State governor, Alhaji Doguwa called for the general public to witness the declaration of State of Emergency on education that governor Abba Kabir Yusuf would launch on Saturday at government house by 2 o’clock, p.m.
