The member representing Bakori/Danja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Abdullahi Balarabe Dabai, has distributed food items worth millions of naira to constituents in Katsina State as part of Ramadan support.
Speaking during the distribution exercise, Dabai said the gesture was aimed at alleviating the suffering of the people, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.
He explained that to ensure transparency and success of the exercise, a committee was constituted under the leadership of Abdullahi Isiyaku to oversee the distribution process.
The lawmaker charged members of the committee to fear Allah in the discharge of their duties and warned against diversion of the items meant for beneficiaries. He also assured constituents that his office would remain open to suggestions and support geared towards the development of the area.
Earlier, Chairman of the Distribution Committee, Abdullahi Isiyaku, said beneficiaries were drawn from the 21 wards of Bakori and Danja Local Government Areas. He noted that widows, orphans, vulnerable households and other selected residents were captured in the exercise.
Isiyaku pledged to carry out the assignment with the fear of Allah and called on beneficiaries to cooperate with the committee to ensure a smooth process.
Some of the beneficiaries commended the lawmaker for the intervention and urged other political office holders to emulate the gesture to cushion the hardship faced by the people.
