Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has sworn in new commissioners, special advisers, and ppermanent secretaries, urging them to ensure prudence and accountability in their roles.t
The governor emphasized that all the appointees were selected based on their proven track records and competence.
He charged the new officials to leverage their wealth of experience in the execution of their duties, with the aim of advancing the goals of their respective ministries and agencies.
“As Commissioners and Special Advisers, you are the political heads of your respective Ministries and Agencies (MDAs),” Gov. Aliyu stated. “Permanent Secretaries, on the other hand, are the heads of administration and accounting officers in their ministries.”
He continued, “You must foster a robust and harmonious working relationship with your staff to achieve the desired positive outcomes. You must consult, study, and master your assigned roles to ensure diligent and impartial performance.”
The Governor further reminded the appointees of the importance of working tirelessly to fulfill the current administration’s goals and to serve the people of the state in the best possible way.
Gov. Aliyu urged the new officials to remain committed, hardworking, and prudent in managing state resources, stressing that transparency, accountability, and fear of Allah should be their guiding principles.
He also reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to the welfare of its workforce and called on civil servants to be punctual and avoid laziness and laxity at work.
The Governor concluded by expressing gratitude to the people of the state for their unwavering support and assured them of his administration’s commitment to delivering more dividends of democracy to all corners of the state.
