The Kebbi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has cautioned Senator Garba Musa Maidoki against what it described as attempts to transfer his political frustration to the public by inciting people against constituted authorities.
The warning followed the Senator’s recent outburst during a public rally in Zuru, where he allegedly threatened the state government and the Zuru Emirate Council over what the party termed his “political misfortune.”
In a statement signed by the Kebbi State APC Chairman, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Kana Zuru, the party described Senator Maidoki’s verbal attacks on Governor Nasir Idris and the Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi Mika’ilu Sami Gomo III, as irresponsible, arrogant, and a failed attempt to gain public sympathy over his political setback.
The chairman stated that the party would ordinarily have ignored the Senator’s comments, considering what he described as his “confused political condition,” but said the APC was compelled to respond because of Maidoki’s alleged attempt to incite the public against the party and insinuate partisanship on the part of the Emir.
Alhaji Kana recalled that Senator Maidoki recently resigned from the APC, citing what the Senator described as an internal crisis within the party.
“Let me make it categorically clear that the Kebbi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has never had, and will never have, any crisis under any guise because of the purposeful leadership of His Excellency, Comrade Nasir Idris, in the democratic governance of Kebbi State,” the statement said.
According to the APC chairman, Senator Maidoki’s resignation and recent public comments were driven by desperation and frustration arising from what he described as the loss of support from his constituents due to poor representation.
He added that the Emir of Zuru, Muhammadu Sanusi Mika’ilu Sami Gomo III, was divinely destined to ascend the throne and had continued to enjoy the love and respect of the people because of his inclusive leadership style, which transcends political and religious affiliations.
“The people of Kebbi South now have the right to look for a responsible, patriotic, and selfless replacement,” he said.
The APC further advised Senator Maidoki to take responsibility for his political challenges rather than blaming the party, Governor Nasir Idris, or the Emir of Zuru.
The statement urged the Senator to search his conscience and reflect on the reasons behind what it described as his “unproductive representation” and the loss of public confidence.
