The Chairman of Tarauni Local Government Area, Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Muhammad Sekure, has received two Hilux patrol vehicles and 10 motorcycles for officers of the Neighbourhood Watch Corps to enhance security operations in the area.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Information Officer of the local government, Adamu Iliyasu Hotoro.
According to the statement, the security assets were provided as part of the Kano State Government’s strategy, in collaboration with local councils, to strengthen surveillance, improve patrol efficiency and ensure the protection of lives and property across the state.

Speaking during the handover, Sekure said the vehicles and motorcycles would significantly boost the operational capacity of the Neighbourhood Watch Corps in Tarauni.
He reiterated the local government’s commitment to supporting security agencies to ensure peace, stability and sustainable development in the area.
The council chairman also commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for establishing the Neighbourhood Watch Corps, describing it as a critical initiative aimed at improving security across Kano State.
Also speaking, the Director of Personnel Management of Tarauni Local Government, Alhaji Tijjani Madaki Gulya, urged the 102 Neighbourhood Watch operatives deployed to the area to apply their training and skills with dedication.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the local government to continuous collaboration with security agencies to achieve lasting peace and safety for residents of the area.
