The Armed Forces of Nigeria has made significant strides in its ongoing fight against terrorism and insurgency. In a recent operation, troops successfully arrested a notorious terrorist leader, Abubakar Bawa Ibrahim, also known as Habu Dogo, in Rumji Village, Illela Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Habu Dogo is a wanted terrorist listed by security agencies in both Nigeria and Niger Republic.
In addition to this significant arrest, troops in the South East apprehended seven IPOB/ESN terrorist commanders and operatives, including Dr. Nnamdi Chukwudoze, Chigozie Ezetoha (AKA Chapet), Ngozi Chukwuka, Oyekachi Ohia, Ifeanyi Eze, Augustine Udemba, Onyedikachi Udemba, and Elijah Mmaduipeya Obumneke.
These arrests were made across various locations in Anambra, Abia, and Imo States.
During the same period, troops neutralized 187 terrorists, arrested 262, and rescued 147 kidnapped hostages.
In the South-South region, troops thwarted attempts to steal crude oil worth over N1 billion, recovering significant amounts of stolen oil and illegal refining equipment.
