In a bid to promote women’s empowerment and self-reliance, Tubless Innovation and Skills Center (TISC), in collaboration with ATM Homes and Apartments, successfully trained 100 women in various vocational skills.
The graduation ceremony took place today at the NiSi Event Centre in Kano.
The initiative, convened by the Chief Executive Officer of Tubless Media Concept, Mr. Nasiru Rabiu Tubless, offered participants practical training in catering, makeup artistry, frame and artwork design, perfume production, and other entrepreneurial skills.
In his remarks, Mr. Tubless commended ATM Homes for sponsoring the training under the leadership of Arch. Dr. Salim Ahmad, describing the collaboration as a significant step towards reducing unemployment and uplifting women in the state.
He prayed for the continued success of ATM Homes while highlighting the importance of investing in women as a means of building stronger communities.
Mr. Tubless further disclosed that Arch. Dr. Salim Ahmad provided additional support to the graduates to enable them to start their ventures. Some of the empowerment items distributed included refrigerators, makeup kits, blenders, gas cookers, cash prizes, and other materials tailored to each skill set.
“Those from the catering group will be supported with bag of wheat flour, cooking gas, and blenders, while the makeup group will be provided with complete makeup kits. Similarly, the frame and perfume groups will receive the necessary materials required to start their businesses,” he explained.
He urged the beneficiaries to maximize the opportunity by establishing businesses that would not only sustain them but also contribute positively to the wider economy.
Speaking to journalists after the event, Arch. Dr. Salim Ahmad, CEO/MD of ATM Homes and Apartments, explained that the motivation behind supporting the skills acquisition training was to encourage women and inspire them to believe in their potential and bright future.
He congratulated the graduates and reminded them that the ultimate reward lies not only in the prizes but in sustaining the knowledge gained.
He further challenged them to rise to the level where they too could sponsor more than a thousand participants in the future.
Dr. Salim emphasized that the next step for the beneficiaries would be learning the business aspect of their skills to attract customers, grow their enterprises, and eventually become employers of labour.
The event was also graced by Sarkin Dawaki Babba, Alhaji Aminu Wada Fanda, who served as the father of the day. In his remarks, he commended Salim for the initiative, expressing delight as a royal father that the training specifically targeted women from Kano State.
On her part, Hajiya Hauwa Saminu Turaki expressed satisfaction with the training, commending Arch. Dr. Salim for his commitment to youth development. She advised the graduates to judiciously utilize the skills they had acquired, noting that knowledge lasts forever, unlike money or material possessions.
Beneficiaries also expressed their gratitude to the organizers. Rumaisa’u Rabiu Inuwa from Catering Group B, whose group won a bag of wheat flour during the competition, called on philanthropists to emulate ATM Homes in supporting women’s empowerment programs, stressing that “educating a woman is like educating the world.”
Similarly, Hauwa Hassan Rabiu, an orphan and beneficiary, revealed that she received a refrigerator along with cash prizes amounting to ₦100,000 to enable her to start a business and become self-reliant. Amira Muhammad from the makeup group also appreciated the organizers, disclosing that her group was awarded ₦100,000 in cash.
The beneficiaries collectively pledged to put the knowledge and tools received into productive use for their personal growth and the development of society.
Highlights of the occasion included the presentation of gifts and cash prizes to winners in various categories, the distribution of certificates, goodwill messages, and group photographs.

He further assured that this was only the beginning, noting that similar training programs would continue across all 19 northern states, with a commitment to support anyone in need.
