Alhaji Sani Abdu Ungogo, the interim management officer of Ungogo Local Government Council has purchased a specially adapted motorcycle for a disabled resident in Gayawa.
This initiative reflects the local government’s ongoing commitment to improving the lives of its citizens, particularly those with disabilities.
The recipient, a man from Gayawa, has faced significant challenges in mobility.
The new motorcycle, designed to accommodate his needs, will greatly enhance his independence and ability to perform daily activities.
During a brief ceremony held in Gayawa, for handing over the motorcycle, Alhaji Ungogo emphasized the importance of supporting all members of the community, ensuring they have the tools and resources needed to live a dignified life.
“We are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of our residents. This gesture is just one way we can show our support and help improve the quality of life for those who need it most. We believe in inclusivity and ensuring that everyone in our community can thrive,” said Alhaji Ungogo.
“The purchase of the motorcycle is part of a broader initiative by the Ungogo Local Government to provide assistance and support to vulnerable and marginalized individuals within the community. This programme aims to address various needs, from healthcare and education to mobility and employment opportunities,” he’d maintained.
On his part, Caretaker Councilor of Gayawa, Adamu Tukur expressed appreciation for the efforts of the council in recognizing the positive impact such initiatives have on enhancing social welfare and community solidarity, as contained in a press release issued by Adamu iliyasu Hotoro, the spokesman of the council.
