The Emir of Gusau, Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim Bello, has conferred the traditional title of Gamzakin Gusau on a prominent businessman, philanthropist, and politician, Alhaji Tahamir Hamza Gusau, in recognition of his contributions to the development of the emirate and Zamfara State.
At the colourful turbaning ceremony held in Gusau, the Emir commended the honouree for his commitment to community service, noting that the conferment symbolised appreciation for his efforts in empowering people and supporting the emirate’s progress.
Responding, the newly installed Gamzakin Gusau expressed gratitude to God and to the Emir for the honour, pledging to continue contributing to the growth and unity of the emirate.
“I am deeply honoured by this recognition. I thank His Royal Highness and the council members for finding me worthy of this great title. I also pray for Allah’s mercy on the late Emir and continued guidance for the current one,” he said.
Alhaji Tahamir, a well-known businessman with vast investments in agriculture, trade, and real estate, has provided jobs for hundreds of youths, supported small businesses with start-up capital, and sponsored educational and healthcare initiatives across Zamfara State.
He also lauded Governor Dauda Lawal for his developmental strides, particularly the Fanna flyover project and major road constructions linking Bello Barau, the old market, Sabon Gari, and Farida General Hospital.
The Gamzakin Gusau further congratulated the Emir on his recent ascension to the throne as the 16th Emir of Gusau, describing it as historic and unprecedented in the emirate’s history where a son succeeded his father.
He prayed for continued peace and progress in Gusau Emirate and expressed optimism that Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration would sustain its people-oriented projects, adding that the governor deserves a second term based on his performance.
