Abdullahi Bello Aliyu, the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the recently concluded Gombe State Principals’ Cup Football Competition, has revealed that his ultimate goal is to play for Real Madrid in Spain’s La Liga.
He also aspires to join the Nigerian senior men’s national football team, the Super Eagles.
Aliyu, a former player for the Kano Pillars FC feeder team, caught the attention of spectators with his stellar performances during the opening and final matches of the one-week tournament at Pantami Stadium.
Speaking to sports journalists, he expressed his ambition to play for Gombe United FC in the future.
At 22 years old and a student in the final year at Savannah Group of Schools, Aliyu shared his plans to pursue trials after his final exams, with hopes of signing a professional contract soon.
Reflecting on the tournament, Aliyu said, “The final game was crucial for us, and we prepared well, but unfortunately, we lost and had to settle for silver.
We’ll start preparing for the next edition, even though some of us won’t be around. I’m grateful to my teammates, the Games Master, and the school management for helping us get this far.”
“My ultimate goal is to play for the Super Eagles and Real Madrid. I will continue training hard to achieve that and to become a great player, just like Victor Osimhen,” Aliyu added.
