The Personal Assistant to the President on Constituency Affairs, Alhaja Khadijat Kareem Omotayo, has emphasized the need for collaboration between government officials, community leaders, and citizens to drive sustainable development in Plateau State.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ engagement meeting held at the Government House Little Rayfield Conference Hall in Jos on Saturday, Omotayo noted that Plateau State was strategically chosen for the dialogue due to its vast potential. She stressed that if properly harnessed, the state’s resources could contribute significantly to national growth.
The presidential aide reiterated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to inclusivity and national development, assuring that his administration remains open to collaboration with all Nigerians to achieve these goals.
Representing Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang at the event, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Musa Ibrahim Ashoms, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to economic growth and national development.
He assured the presidential aide of Plateau State’s steadfast support in promoting equitable governance through strategic infrastructural development.
Ashoms highlighted Plateau’s reputation as a hub for nurturing talent and fostering development across various sectors. He also acknowledged the Federal Government’s interventions in different areas, which he said had contributed to improving the living standards of citizens.
The town hall meeting brought together key stakeholders, including traditional rulers, youth leaders, representatives from the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), political party representatives, women in agriculture, Muslim leaders, and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), among others.
During the discussions, participants expressed appreciation to Omotayo for organizing the engagement and called on President Tinubu to address pressing security concerns, stressing that citizens do not feel safe.
