From Umar Danladi Ado, Sokoto
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Aliyu Sahabi Yar Abba, has felicitated with Muslims across Sokoto State, Nigeria, and beyond on the occasion of this year’s Maulud celebration, which commemorates the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
In a message marking the occasion, Yar Abba, a Board Member of the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (PWA), urged Muslims to use the Maulud celebration as an opportunity to reflect on the exemplary life, teachings, and virtues of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), particularly his commitment to peace, justice, compassion, tolerance, honesty, and service to humanity.
The immediate past Chairman of the Sokoto State Chapter of the Association of Bureau De Change Operators of Nigeria stressed that the significance of Maulud goes beyond celebration.
He urged Muslims to demonstrate the noble character of the Prophet (SAW) in their daily lives by promoting peaceful coexistence, forgiveness, mutual respect, and concern for the less privileged.
According to him, Nigeria needs greater unity, understanding, and cooperation among its citizens, especially at a time when the country is confronted with various economic and social challenges.
Yar Abba therefore called on political, religious, traditional, and community leaders to continue to promote peace and dialogue while putting the interests and welfare of the people above personal and political differences.
He also urged the younger generation to emulate Prophet Muhammad (SAW) by embracing honesty, discipline, hard work, humility, knowledge, and respect for others.
“The Maulud celebration provides us with a valuable opportunity to reflect on the exemplary life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
“His teachings remind us of the importance of peace, justice, compassion, patience, forgiveness, and service to humanity.
“As Muslims, we must strive to translate these virtues into our daily lives and contribute positively to the development and peaceful coexistence of our communities and our dear nation, Nigeria,” he said.
The APC chieftain further called on Muslims to use the occasion to offer prayers for peace, security, prosperity, and sustainable development in Sokoto State and Nigeria as a whole.
He prayed that Almighty Allah would continue to guide the country’s leaders, protect citizens, strengthen unity among Nigerians, and grant the nation peace and progress.
Alhaji Aliyu Sahabi Yar Abba wished Muslims a peaceful, spiritually rewarding, and blessed Maulud celebration.
