Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has commissioned the Fufore Cottage Hospital and announced plans to upgrade it to a full-fledged General Hospital.
Fintiri disclosed this during the commissioning of the facility over the weekend, saying the upgrade would enable the hospital to provide secondary healthcare services to residents of Fufore Local Government Area and neighbouring communities bordering the Republic of Cameroon.
The governor, who was accompanied by his deputy, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta; the senator representing Adamawa Central, Aminu Iya Abbas; and other dignitaries, expressed satisfaction with the quality of the facility.
He described the project as part of his administration’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery across the state.
Fintiri reiterated that strengthening both primary and tertiary healthcare services remains a central focus of his government.
“The hospital will soon be upgraded to a General Hospital to enhance access to quality healthcare services for our people,” he said.
The governor also inspected the facility, touring various departments under the guidance of the Principal Medical Officer, Dr. Dibal Denis.
During his visit to Fufore, Fintiri paid a courtesy call on the Emir of Fufore, Sani Ahmadu Ribadu, who commended the governor for what he described as significant developmental strides in the state, particularly in the local government area.
