The Tudun Wada Local Government Academic Forum (TUDAFO), under the leadership of Dr. Lawan Yakubu, has successfully organized the its week activity recently.
The forum celebrated its third week on Saturday, April 4, this year.
The event was held at Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso College of Advanced and Remedial Studies
Tudun Wada, in Tudun Wada Local Government Area of Kano State alongside a grand reception in honor of three of its distinguished members who recently attained the rank of Professors.
The event, which attracted dignitaries from across the area and beyond, celebrated academic excellence, community service and contributions to human capital development.
A statement from Malam Usaini Garba Danbatta, said the newly honored Professors who the forum proudly celebrated their academic achievements as scholars, were Prof. Isah Abubakar Aliyu, a Professor of Medical Laboratory Science; Prof. Salisu Maiwada Abubakar, a Professor of Nutrition Biochemistry and Prof. Lubabatu Bello Dankadai, a Professor of Law.
Their elevation, the forum said, was a source of pride and inspiration to the people of the area and the state at large.
It stated that in recognition of the distinguished personalities and their outstanding contributions to community service, philanthropy and educational advancement, it conferred Distinguished Honor Awards, Philanthropist Awards and Recognition Awards on some notable personalities again.
Those personalities, it said, were Sen. Suleiman Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila; Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa; Hon.Sule Lawan Shuwaki; Alhaji Nura Muhammad Dankadai; Hon. (Dr.) Sa’adatu Salisu Yushau, the chairperson of the area and Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi Musa.
Others were Alhaji Usama Ishaq Abdurrazak; Alhaji Umar Suleiman Umar and Tasiu Salisu Burum Burum, former Education Secretary of the area.
“These individuals,” it said, “were commended for their unwavering commitment to the socio-economic and educational development of Tudun Wada Local Government.”
It said those dignitaries in attendance, were several high-profile personalities, including Alhaji Habibu Bello Dankadai, Katukan Kano and District Head of the local government; Alhaji Abdullahi Sarki Muhammad Dankadai, District Head of Doguwa and Sarkin Yamman Kano; Alhaji Isah Ahmad Tudun Wada mni and Alhaji Sani Abdullahi Kofar Mata.
Others were Alhaji Muntaka Dahiru, Muhammad Auwal Kofa, Alhaji Dahiru Hamisu, the Education Secretary of the area and Hussaini Garba Dambatta, alongside numerous stakeholders, academics and community leaders respectively.
The leadership of TUDAFO used the opportunity to emphasize on the importance of education as a catalyst for sustainable development.
The forum reaffirmed its commitment towards promoting academic excellence, supporting scholars and fostering community-driven development initiatives.
The event stood as a testament to the forum’s dedication towads recognizing excellence, inspiring the younger generation and strengthening the educational and socio-economic fabric of the area.
