Jifatu General Enterprises Limited has firmly denied a viral social media publication alleging that its supermarket property located along Zaria Road in Kano metropolis has been put up for sale, describing the claim as false, misleading, and entirely unauthorized.
The clarification follows a Facebook post that circulated widely online, showing an image of the Jifatu Supermarket with an attached claim that the property was available for sale at N2.5 million, sparking confusion among members of the public.
In a swift reaction, the management of the company dismissed the advertisement, stressing that the property remains its operational business outlet and is not, under any circumstance on sale.
In an official disclaimer, the company stated that the publication was made without its knowledge, consent or approval and warned that it appears to be a deceptive act intended to mislead the public.
“The management of Jifatu General Enterprises Limited wishes to categorically inform the general public that the purported advertisement circulating on Facebook and WhatsApp claiming that Jifatu Supermarket along Zaria Road, Kano is for sale is false and should be completely disregarded,” the statement read.
The company further cautioned that the post may be linked to fraudulent activity, urging members of the public to be vigilant and avoid engaging with unverified or suspicious information on social media platforms.
It also called on the individual responsible for the post to immediately remove the listing, warning that the spread of false information could harm public trust and potentially expose unsuspecting individuals to financial risk.
“We wish to make it clear that this property is not for sale and has been falsely advertised without our knowledge or consent. The person responsible is hereby advised to delete the publication immediately,” it added.
Reassuring customers and stakeholders, Jifatu General Enterprises confirmed that all its branches remain fully operational and continue to serve customers without interruption.
The company further encouraged the public to disregard the misleading post and continue patronizing its businesses, emphasizing that it will not be held liable for any loss arising from reliance on fraudulent or unverified social media claims.
