The member representing Bichi Federal Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, Hon. Abubakar Kabir Bichi, has donated $300 (equivalent of N420,000) to each of the 193 pilgrims from Bichi Local Government Area currently performing the 2026 Hajj exercise.
Hon. Bichi made the donation during a visit to the pilgrims in Minna on Thursday, where the pilgrims were observing part of the compulsory Hajj rites.
With each pilgrim receiving N420,000, the total amount donated by the lawmaker stands at N81,060,000.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Bichi described the gesture as part of his annual tradition of supporting pilgrims from his constituency to enable them perform the Hajj exercise with ease and comfort.
He urged the pilgrims to conduct themselves responsibly and serve as worthy ambassadors of Bichi, Kano State, and Nigeria throughout their stay in the Holy Land.
The lawmaker also called on the pilgrims to use the opportunity of the sacred journey to pray for peace, unity, progress, and prosperity of Nigeria.
