The Executive Chairman of Kano State Internal Revenue Service (KIRS), Dr. Zaid Abubakar, has on Thursday, July 9, this year, formally handed over the administration of the Service to the Senior Executive Director, Compliance and Enforcement Group, Malam Muhammad Abba Aliyu, following the expiration of his tenure in office.
The information was in accordance with a statement from Head, Corporate Communications of the outfit, Malam Aisha Habib Maigiwa, in Kano.
It said the handover ceremony, held at the KIRS Headquarters in Kano, marked the close of a significant chapter in the history of the Service, as staff and management witnessed a smooth and orderly transition of leadership.
Speaking during the ceremony, Dr. Abubakar expressed gratitude to the state government and the management of the board for their unwavering support throughout his tenure.
He urged them to remain committed to professionalism, teamwork and the collective vision of strengthening the state’s revenue administration.
In his remarks, Malam Aliyu appreciated the confidence reposed in him and assured management of continuity in the administration of the Service.
The transition reflects the Service’s commitment to institutional stability, continuity and good governance, while reaffirming its resolve to sustain ongoing reforms and improve revenue generation for the development of the state.
As one chapter closes, another begins, carrying with it the hopes of building on the achievements of the outgoing administration and further strengthening the Service’s mission of delivering efficient and people-focused tax administration.
