Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has approved a fresh round of appointments into key advisory positions and the boards of strategic government institutions as part of efforts to strengthen governance, improve service delivery, and accelerate the implementation of his administration’s transformative agenda.
The appointments were announced in a statement issued on Monday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibraheem Musa.
Among those appointed are Hon. Audu Maikori as Chief Strategic Adviser on Inter-Governmental Affairs, Umar Uba Maicitta as Senior Special Assistant on Community Relations, and Aminu Mohammed Gusau as Senior Special Assistant on Policy Communications.
The Governor also approved the constitution of the Governing Council of Kaduna State University, with Dr. Ibrahim Umar appointed as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman. Other members of the council are Dr. Ibrahim Hamidu, Malam Adamu Aliyu Shika, Mrs. Ladi Barnabas Bala Bantex, and Alhaji Adamu Attah.
Similarly, Lawal Umar Meyere was appointed Chairman of the Kaduna Mining Development Company Management Board, while Tanko Kokwain will head the Kaduna State Schools Quality Assurance Authority Management Board.
For the Kaduna State Livestock Regulatory Agency, David Umar Gurara was appointed Chairman of the Board, while Yakubu El Saad Lere will serve as Chairman of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC) Board.
The statement added that representatives from the three senatorial districts and other relevant stakeholders have also been appointed to serve on the various boards.
Governor Uba Sani described the appointees as experienced professionals and competent leaders selected on the basis of merit, integrity, and commitment to the socio-economic development of Kaduna State.
He congratulated the new appointees and urged them to see their appointments as a call to selfless service.
The Governor also charged them to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, transparency, accountability, and the highest ethical standards to ensure effective delivery of democratic dividends to the people of Kaduna State.
The appointments take immediate effect.
