Abdulsamat Sanu Harun Idris, a Nigerian entrepreneur with business operations between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia, has called for policies that will make cross-border trade easier for Nigerian businesses.
Idris said improving the business environment and reducing barriers to international trade would create more opportunities for Nigerian entrepreneurs to access foreign markets, expand their businesses and contribute to economic growth.
He said stronger connections between Nigerian businesses and international markets could also create employment opportunities, particularly for young people seeking sustainable means of livelihood.
According to him, his business operations in Saudi Arabia have expanded significantly, with 56 Samado Juice outlets currently operating in the country.
Idris said the expansion demonstrates the opportunities available to Nigerian businesses in international markets when the right conditions and support systems are in place.
He called for continued efforts to simplify legitimate cross-border business processes and create an environment that encourages Nigerian entrepreneurs to expand beyond the domestic market.
He added that greater access to international markets could attract investment, increase commercial activities and contribute to job creation and economic development.
Business analysts have also highlighted the importance of expanding Nigerian businesses into foreign markets, noting that international trade can provide access to new customers, investment opportunities and partnerships.
They said policies that encourage businesses to scale beyond Nigeria could help strengthen the private sector and provide more employment opportunities for the country’s growing youth population.
Idris urged relevant authorities to continue developing policies that support Nigerian businesses seeking to establish a presence in international markets, saying that stronger participation in global commerce would contribute to the country’s long-term economic development.
