…Police Nap 3 Informants
The Nigeria Bar Association (NBA),has confirmed the kidnapped of one of their member Barrister Rukayyat Mustafa in the wee hours of Sunday in Sokoto.
However, Police Operatives arrested 3 informants in connection with terrorists kidnap lawyer in Sokoto
Confirming the State Chairman of the Association Barrister Nuhu Muhammad said the incident also prayed for her safety and quick released from the bandit den.
Our Correspondent gathered that the that bandits kidnapped Barrister Rukayyat Mustafa in residence at Bado area of Wamakko local government area in Sokoto State .
Barrister Fadinand Okotete, a Notary Public, and Principal partner of the law firm where Mrs Mustafa works said that she was kidnapped by bandits at about 1 am.
Okotete further said the terrorists stormed her residence and kidnapped Rukayyat along with a young man.
He explained that after they trekedto a vehicle that was parked far away from her residence, the bandits then released the young man and told him to go back or they would shoot him.
Okotete reveals that man rushed back for fear of being shot by the bandits.
The matter had been reported to the Police for possible rescue of the kidnap victim.
Rukayyat’s younger brother, Khalid Mustafa corroborated Barrister Okotete’s account, adding that the traumatised young man was not able to provide full details of the incident.
Khalid however said that the Police had requested them to report at 1 pm.
The operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Sokoto State Command have arrested at least three persons in connection with the kidnap of a female lawyer, Barr (Mrs) Rukayyat Mustafa.
The suspects were nabbed for allegedly giving information to bandits which resulted in the kidnapping of the lawyer in the Bado area of the state metropolis.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, ASP Ahmed Rufai, said the incident happened in the early hours of Sunday.
“The bandits stormed her house and kidnapped Rukayyat along with a young man whom we believe is her younger brother.
The three persons we arrested are suspected to be the ones giving information to the bandits and they are already in our custody.
“Hopefully, we will get to the root of the matter in a short period and get her rescued” he added.
He also gave an update on the woman who was killed in a hotel in the state, saying the police had gotten the identity of the alleged killer while assuring him that he would soon be arrested.
