Suspected bandits have killed nine people and abducted children and women at Maidabino village of Danmusa local government area of Katsina state.
The Triumph gathered that the bandits burnt about 30 shops and carted away food items belonging to traders.
Our correspondent learnt that the incident happened last Saturday at about 10 p.m. 24 hours before the commencement of the North West Peace and Security Security Summit in the state.
Triumph reports that about two weeks ago four policemen including two members of State Security Watch were killed by bandits in Kankara Local government.
Speaking on the Maidabino incident, a member State House If Assembly representing Danmusa, Aminu Garba confirmed that about 50 people mostly women and children were abducted by the bandits.
He said: “The bandits burnt cars, and shops and went away with food items,” he said.
Unfortunately, saying, the attack has crippled business activities in the area, “We are worried about the attack, people lost their relations and properties.”
The member said the Government has directed the estimate of property lost for assistance to the victims
He called on the people to continue to pray for the return of peace in the state. Meanwhile, the Police Public relations officer ASWP Abubakar in Sadig has confirmed the incident but demanded time to give more details.
