Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri lambasted one Ahmed Munir Adams over his misleading claims that the state government has neglected the water sector in the state.
In a statement issued and signed by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fimtiri, Humwashi Wonosikau in Yola describing it as misleading and mischievous.
The statement read parts, “Our attention has been drawn to false claims made by Ahmed Munir Adam on his social media handle, accusing the Adamawa State government of neglecting the water sector. This is a blatant lie, and we are compelled to set the record straight.
He said, contrary to Munir’s claims, Governor Fintiri’s administration has made significant strides in transforming the water sector. The government has renovated facilities across the state, provided chemicals to the Water Board for smooth operation of water treatment plants, and laid new pipelines from Jimeta to Mbamba in Yola South.
The government also, additionally said over 200 boreholes have been drilled to address water supply challenges in areas that previously had no access.
Reiterating, “Notably, areas like Mubi, which had not seen taps running in over 40 years, now enjoy a steady water supply thanks to the Governor’s intervention. This is a testament to the administration’s commitment to ensuring that every citizen has access to clean water, regardless of their location.
Therefore, Munir’s claim, accompanied by a picture of a well, is not only misleading but also mischievous. It’s evident that he has a personal vendetta against Governor Fintiri, as his claims defy the obvious improvements in the water sector. The people of Yola and other local government areas can attest to the government’s interventions, which have significantly improved access to clean water.
Adamawa State is blessed with abundant water resources, and Governor Fintiri’s administration has harnessed this potential to ensure that residents have access to clean water.Unfortunately,t naysayers like Munir refuse to acknowledge these achievements, the statement added.
On this note, “I dare Munir to show the location of the Well he claims is in the state capital.
“We urge the public to disregard Munir’s false claims and instead focus on the tangible progress made in the water sector. Governor Fintiri’s administration remains committed to delivering quality services to the people of Adamawa State,” he said.
