The leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Shahuci Ward, Kano Municipal Local Government Area, has reaffirmed its decision to expel Hajiya Naja’atu Muhammad from the party, insisting that the resolution adopted by the Ward Executive Committee remains valid, binding, and fully in force.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Ward leadership said Naja’atu Muhammad should immediately stop presenting herself as a leader, member, or representative of the ADC in any official capacity.

It warned that any continued attempt to speak or act on behalf of the party despite the ward’s decision would compel the party to seek legal redress before a court of competent jurisdiction.

The ward executive also dismissed recent claims that the leadership structure of the ADC in Kano State had been dissolved, describing the assertions as false, misleading, and without constitutional or legal basis.

According to the statement, only the constitutionally recognised organs of the party have the authority to make decisions regarding the leadership and organisational structure of the ADC.

The leadership further rejected reports concerning Alhaji Ibrahim Ali Amin, popularly known as “Little,” the party’s governorship candidate in Kano State, arguing that any declaration affecting his status did not follow the constitutional procedures prescribed by the party and therefore has no legal validity or recognition.

Reaffirming its commitment to the party’s constitution, internal discipline, unity, due process, and the rule of law, the Ward leadership urged members, supporters, stakeholders, and the general public to recognise only the constitutionally constituted leadership of the ADC and disregard statements or directives not issued through the party’s legitimate structures.

Speaking on behalf of the Ward Executive Committee, a party leader said the issue was about protecting the party’s constitution rather than targeting individuals.

“Our concern is not about personalities but about upholding the constitution of the party and respecting its legitimate leadership.

“Every member is expected to conduct themselves in accordance with the rules, principles, and procedures of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

“We therefore call on Hajiya Naja’atu Muhammad to refrain from actions or statements capable of creating confusion or division within the party.

“Should she continue to present herself as a representative or leader of the party despite the Ward’s decision, the party will have no alternative but to seek appropriate legal remedies before a court of competent jurisdiction.

“The Ward also believes Hajiya Naja’atu Muhammad has no demonstrable political value beyond media commentary and public statements.

“If she truly possessed significant political influence, it would have been reflected during the last general election, beginning from the polling unit where she cast her vote for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, let alone at the ward, local government, or state level.

“The Ward therefore maintains that she lacks the mandate to speak or act on behalf of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kano State.”
