From Mu’awiya Bala Idris, Katsina
A philanthropist, Ibrahim Haruna Dan Alkali, has declared his intention to contest for the Bakori State House of Assembly seat in Katsina State.
Dan Alkali made the declaration during a visit to the APC State Secretariat, where he submitted his letter of intent.
He said his decision to contest was driven by his desire to contribute his vast experience and knowledge towards addressing the challenges facing the area.
According to him, although he has been supporting the needy and vulnerable in the community, he resolved to formally join the race in order to further contribute to the development of Bakori Local Government.
“My ambition is not to acquire wealth from the public treasury, but a call to serve and contribute to the development of Bakori,” he stated.
He called on party members to support his aspiration and commended party leaders for providing a level playing field for all aspirants.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Haruna “Mile 12” revealed that out of eleven aspirants for the seat, nine had withdrawn their candidacy in support of Dan Alkali.
He described the aspirant as a well-known humanitarian who has consistently used his personal resources to assist individuals and communities, adding that if elected, he would deliver quality representation at the State House of Assembly.
Earlier, while receiving the aspirant, the State Chairman of the APC, Bashir Saulawa, commended Dan Alkali for his interest in serving the people and assured that the party would be fair to all contestants.
Saulawa described the APC as a winning party ahead of the 2027 elections.
“Governor Dikko Umaru Radda will win the 2027 election. He has done well in developing Katsina State,” he added.
