The Forum of Former Heads of Parastatals, Departments and Agencies in Kano State has pledged its support for the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, assuring the state government of its readiness to contribute to governance and development initiatives.
The pledge was made on Tuesday during a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, at his office in Kano.
The delegation, comprising former managing directors, director-generals and executive secretaries of various government agencies, also congratulated Garo on his emergence as deputy governor.
Speaking during the visit, Garo expressed appreciation for the support and goodwill extended to him and Governor Yusuf by members of the forum.
“I am sincerely grateful for this congratulatory visit and for the love and support you have continued to show to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and myself over the years,” he said.
The deputy governor said the administration would continue to benefit from the experience and expertise of former public office holders in advancing development across the state.
According to him, Governor Yusuf remains committed to engaging experienced individuals in the task of governance and ensuring that their contributions are utilised for the progress of Kano State.
“You are people with vast experience in public service. Your advice, guidance and contributions will be valuable to the government as we continue to implement policies and programmes aimed at improving the lives of our people,” Garo said.
He assured members of the forum that the administration would continue to carry them along in its activities and development agenda.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation and former Executive Secretary of the Kano State Emergency Management Agency, Comrade Saleh Jili, said the visit was organised to congratulate the deputy governor and reaffirm the forum’s support for the state government.
Jili described Garo as a longstanding leader and mentor who had provided guidance and support to many members of the forum over the years.
“We are here to congratulate His Excellency on his emergence as Deputy Governor of Kano State. We have known him for years as a leader who has always guided and supported many of us,” he said.
He assured the deputy governor that members of the forum remained willing to contribute their knowledge and experience towards the success of the administration.
“We are still young and not tired. We are always ready to support the state government in any way possible. Whenever our experience is needed, we are available to contribute to the development of Kano State,” Jili added.
The delegation also offered prayers for the success of the Yusuf administration and for continued peace, progress and development in the state.
