Prominent personalities, including the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, on Saturday attended two wedding ceremonies in Kano, urging the newly married couples to build their homes on the principles of love, mutual respect, patience and the fear of God.
Garo served as the marriage guardian (Waliyyi) of Fatima Shehu Aliyu, daughter of Hon. Shehu Aliyu Ungogo, former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Kano Central.
The wedding ceremony, held at the residence of the former APC chairman in Ungogo Local Government Area, attracted family members, political associates, friends and well-wishers.
During the solemnisation, the Deputy Governor formally gave out the bride in marriage and prayed for a peaceful, successful and enduring union.
“Marriage is a sacred institution that requires commitment, sacrifice and mutual respect. I pray Almighty Allah grants you a peaceful and blessed home filled with love, prosperity and understanding,” Garo said.
In a related development, the Deputy Governor also served as marriage guardian at the wedding of Aisha Uba Muhammad Danbayye, daughter of APC chieftain, Hon. Uba Danbayye Ajingi.
The wedding, held at the residence of the former Chairman of Ajingi Local Government Area, joined Aisha Uba Muhammad and Ibrahim Bala Abubakar in matrimony in the presence of relatives, community leaders and dignitaries from across the state.
Speaking at the ceremony, Garo congratulated the families of the bride and groom and prayed for Allah’s blessings upon the newlyweds.
“Marriage should be built on love, tolerance, trust and responsibility. I encourage the couple to uphold these values as they begin a new chapter of their lives together,” he said.
The Deputy Governor emphasised the importance of marriage as a vital institution for promoting stable families and a peaceful society.
Meanwhile, Garo also paid a sympathy visit to a former Chairman of Tarauni Local Government Area, Alhaji Ibrahim Sale, who is currently receiving treatment following an illness.
During the visit to his residence in Unguwa Uku, Tarauni Local Government Area, the Deputy Governor expressed concern over the former council chairman’s health condition and prayed for his speedy recovery.
He also conveyed the goodwill of the Kano State Government and assured him of the support and prayers of friends and associates.
